My wife and I visited Key West,FL a number of years ago. Being from Minnesota, we were amazed at the different types of foliage. She wanted to bring home a palm tree. I knew it wouldn’t survive the frigid winter temperatures, and was able to talk her into a plumeria instead. These are the flowers that Hawaiian leis are made from. I thought it would stay small enough to have inside the house. Boy – was I wrong! When we decided to sell the house and move south, the plant was over 6-feet tall!! We had to sell the plant with the house. The worst thing for her, is that we waited years and years for the plant to bloom – it finally did 2-months prior to selling the house. I completed this picture so she would always remember the trip.
