Original ... 20" x 24" ... $2,400.00 The Commercial Artist at Art Alley in Gulf Shores,AL has always talked about the beautiful osprey that flew over the river in Elberta, AL. One day, she captured this bird on her digital camera. It had a stick in it's claws, but because it's commonly referred to as a "fish hawk", I chose to replace the stick with a speckled saltwater trout -- since that is it's main diet. Being an in-house-artist, everyone at Art Alley was able to watch my progress, and were all amazed with the results. My wife thought that Bon Appétit would be the perfect name for this picture. |

Original 18"x24" ... SOLD This is the first picture that I've done in 'warm' colors. I wanted to bounce colors from the sky down onto the water, chair, and sand. I see skies like this all the time on the Gulf, and I felt the need to capture the beauty. I really enjoy how the sun colors bounce off the seat of the adirondack chair. It draws the person in to a calming and relaxing warm summer night. |

$6,500 – image size 18x24 – contact us for purchase and framing information Years ago, my parents went scuba diving in Bonaire. My dad took a picture of this turtle underwater. I researched coral and tropical fish that live in the Bonaire area, and added them to my piece. This work took about 3 months to complete due to the intricate detail found in each piece of coral, as well as the color combinations in the turtle’s shell. I told my wife I didn’t want to sell the original, so she bought me a baby turtle instead. |

This is another Alabama inspired creation. My dog and I were out riding around in the country one day, and found ourselves with fields of white on either side of the road. It reminded me of the snow-covered fields at home – in an odd sort of way. I hopped on the cab of my pick-up truck, and snapped quite a few photos of the landscape all around me. When I hopped down from the cab, I was surprised to see my dog face-to-face with a beautiful white horse. I added him and a few of his friends into this work. |

$4,500 – image 18x24 – contact us for purchase and framing information My wife and I visited Key West,FL a number of years ago. Being from Minnesota, we were amazed at the different types of foliage. She wanted to bring home a palm tree. I knew it wouldn’t survive the frigid winter temperatures, and was able to talk her into a plumeria instead. These are the flowers that Hawaiian leis are made from. I thought it would stay small enough to have inside the house. Boy – was I wrong! When we decided to sell the house and move south, the plant was over 6-feet tall!! We had to sell the plant with the house. The worst thing for her, is that we waited years and years for the plant to bloom – it finally did 2-months prior to selling the house. I completed this picture so she would always remember the trip. |

When my wife and I first arrived in Alabama, she talked me into “sightseeing” at Alligator Alley in Summerdale. I wasn’t aware that there were over 150 live alligators at this park. Being from Minnesota, I’d never been that close to 1 alligator – let alone 150! After walking around for quite a while, chatting with the staff, and watching a feeding, one of the workers asked me if I wanted to hold a baby (4-foot gator). I said “NO WAY!”. I was still a little apprehensive. I decided to complete Gator Done to get over my apprehension of the reptile. My wife will tell you I lived at Alligator Alley for months studying the gators, but really I was only there three to four hours every day. Did you know – alligators have hurricane sensors along their jaw lines?! After I completed the work, I showed it to the owner, and he was amazed how accurate it was – including the hurricane sensors. I’m still apprehensive when gators are in the wild, but feel right at home at Alligator Alley – where they’re behind big fences. This picture took almost 3 months to complete – the original is 2 feet by 3 feet. |

Our friend Bev sent us a picture that her brother had taken while working in Antarctica. I felt that the penguins looked empowering in the photo, and I knew I had to use this in one of my works. I had so much fun completing the picture, I even named the penguins (Martin, Steve, Chevy, and Charlie). This was going to be called “Martin and the Three Amigo’s”, but that was just too long. Before print, I changed the name to Emperor Penguins. This was completed in mid-2006, before any of the movies were released. |

$4,500 – image size 18x24 – contact us for purchase and framing information The 2006 Thunder on the Gulf speedboat races had to be held on the hottest day of the year. My wife and I walked for what seemed to be miles through the white scorching hot sand to the Gulf. Orange Beach was filled with thousands of people – who were smarter than us Yankees – and brought their own umbrella shades, and refreshments. Companies rent lounge chairs with umbrellas, along the beach, and we couldn’t wait to get out of the sun. The beauty of the Gulf filled with the beach umbrellas and the sound of waves on the shoreline was captivating. This piece shows some of the activities that can be done at the beach, whether you want to be in the water, on shore tanning, or playing with your kids. I completed this picture to illustrate that even though there may be a million different things going on around you, you can still find your own personal getaway. |

SOLD – image size 18x24 – contact us for purchase and framing information Alabama Serenity is my “dream” back-yard. The inspiration for this picture came from the many waterways and the beautiful blooms that dot the landscape in Baldwin County, Alabama. This was created from a compilation of many, many photos taken during 2005 and 2006. This scenery is one of the reasons I moved from northern-Minnesota to southern-Alabama. Coming soon … my “dream” house … “Serenity” |
